Vasalogger - free live tracking for Vasaloppet 2020

With Vasalogger you can log your progress through the race and present it to your followers in real time. Service is experimental, free and requires no registration. Follow the directions below the image to add yourself in!

Vasalogger uses a free and open source GPS logger Android app with a suite of web applications for analysis and presentation of your tracking data. Your phone sends your location to Vasalogger every minute together with your phone serial number and you android-id. The data is removed from server at midnight. (we will have think about an exception for Nattvasan!).

Add yourself to tracking

This is an Android only as there is no app (that I know of) for Iphone that can send location data to a REST-api.

Install GPS Logger-app to your Android phone (version 103 or later)
Open the app, open the menu and click ‘Defaul profile’
Choose ‘from URL’ and pass the following url: http://software.markuskainu.fi/vasalogger/vasalogger003.properties
Close menu and start tracking by clicking ‘Start tracking’
Wait until you appear on either one or both of the apps:
- Vasalogger Race Shows all users within 500m distance from the route that have been active during last two hours
- Vasalogger Test Shows all dots that have been tracked during the day, regardless the location
